POPULAR UK independent designer retailer, Kids Cavern, has joined the growing list of exciting new retailers now open at Metrocentre, with its new store located in the Lower Platinum Mall.

Settled in Platinum Mall between Kurt Geiger and Office, Kids Cavern is now open to shoppers and is set to be a hit with its impressive selection of designer brands including Balmain, Balenciaga, Burberry, Marc Jacobs and Givenchy, as well as many more household designer names.

With several stylish stores in major cities, including a flagship in Liverpool, the 7,000 sq ft Metrocentre site is the 5th to open in the UK as it aims to be one of the country’s top and go-to destinations for designer childrenswear.

Danny Shelvey, Kids Cavern managing director, said: “The new Kids Cavern store will bring the very best luxury childrenswear to Metrocentre. North East consumers have a keen eye for fashion and are very savvy shoppers in touch with the latest trends, so with over 120 designer names stocked in-store and prices starting from around £20, we are confident we will meet the needs of brand-loving parents.

“We found people sometimes have unpleasant memories of shopping at designer department stores, so we wanted to break the mould with a relaxed and informal experience for our customers, giving them the chance to shop our products in a nice, enjoyable environment with the help of our knowledgeable and approachable staff.

“We carefully designed the store ourselves by tapping into our years of retail experience and travelling, allowing us to create a unique shopping space that we too would like to visit. Not only that, but we have also always ensured our buyers’ fingers are on the pulse, allowing us to bring the very best and latest trends to our customers. We can’t wait to welcome Metrocentre shoppers through our doors to experience Kids Cavern for themselves.”

The family-run business boasts over 30 years’ experience in designer childrenswear since launching as a small market stall in Liverpool, now dressing all age ranges from newborn to teenagers, catering to a range of shoppers and their individual style and taste.

Kids Cavern is joined by a string of recent openings including US-based sports retailer, Lids and women’s footwear and accessories retailer, Carvela, as well as Castore, who is expected to open a Newcastle United store in the centre this weekend. This follows the announcement of other high-profile lettings including the region’s only H&M Home and H Beauty from Harrods which will open in the summer.
