So much more to come!

We've been busy this year!

2023 has been a busy year for the centre as we’ve welcomed a range of fantastic new brands, including Vanilla, Moda in Pelle, Rowen Homes, Skopes, Apricot, VIP Nails and an additional store for The Fragrance Shop. Before the year is out, we will see over 200,000 sq ft of retail space open with brands investing over £40m in their Metrocentre stores:

The first big announcement is the much-anticipated reopening of ZARA at the end of the month – keep an eye on Metrocentre’s social channels for an announcement. The new store is almost three times the size of the former store and promises to be a huge footfall driver for the centre.

In October Treetops Adventure Golf opens in the Qube with two brand new 18-hole golf courses currently under construction.

Flannels is set to open on the ground floor of the former Debenhams unit in November and will stock the biggest names in luxury fashion and beauty. It is a premium shopfit and will be a fantastic addition to the Red Mall.

Sports Direct will open on the first floor of the former Debenhams Unit in November. It is one of the most requested brands from our shoppers and a fantastic addition to the first floor.

Everlast will be opening the UKs largest hybrid gym in November on the top floor of the former Debenhams unit. Look out for the video walkthrough which the centre will shortly be posting on socials. We will also see Goldsmiths reopening in November in their beautiful new Green Mall showroom. They have expanded into the former Boux Avenue site and will be including a stunning new Rolex Boutique.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen opens their only store in the North East in November on the ground floor of the Green Mall.

Ann Summers and David Summerfield are currently undergoing refurbishment and will open in the coming weeks, adding to the bustling activities in Red and Green Mall. Market Cross Jewellers have reopened their doors with a fresh new look in Green Mall too.

Work on the construction of three new units over at Metro Retail Park is almost complete with Dreams, Natuzzi and NCF Living opening before the end of the year.

Yellow Mall and Blue Mall will shortly welcome new catering brands – look out for the announcements coming soon...

There are lots of projects underway for 2024 including the introduction of the NHS Community Diagnostic Centre, which will provide 145,000 appointments per year / a planning application has been made to bring Powerleague to the Blue Multi Storey Car Park / numerous deals are in solicitors hands and will be announced in the coming months!
