Description:
We’re looking for friendly, confident and customer-focused Front of House / Operations Assistants to join the team at Gateshead’s newest immersive experience, based on a popular TV show. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new attraction, working closely with children and families to deliver a fun, welcoming and well-organised experience from start to finish.
What will your duties be as a Front of House / Operations Assistant?
• Greet patrons (predominantly children and families) in a friendly and professional manner
• Act as the first and last point of contact, setting the tone for the overall experience
• Check and scan tickets on arrival using electronic ticketing systems (training provided)
• Respond to email and telephone ticketing enquiries
• Handle customer complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Monitor and report ticket sales flow to management
• Manage cloakroom operations and escort patrons throughout the venue
• Pulse groups of patrons into and out of the experience, ensuring correct flow and timing
• Guide patrons through the venue and ensure they are in the right place at the right time
• Support merchandise sales, including operating POS systems and handling card payments
• Replenish merchandise stock and maintain a clean, inviting retail area
• Report any stock or POS issues accurately
• Reset rooms between visits when required, including light cleaning duties
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment throughout the venue
• Take ownership of onboarding groups, explaining venue rules clearly and confidently
• Engage groups in an entertaining and reassuring manner, especially children
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
What are we looking for in you?
• A friendly, engaging and confident personality
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in customer service (preferred but not essential)
• Patience and confidence working with children
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to work as part of a team and across rotating responsibilities
Health, Safety & Training
• First Aid at Work and/or Fire Marshal training may be required (training provided if needed)
• An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role (arranged via the company)
• Full role-specific training will be provided
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Contract:
A mix of minimum-hour contracts depending on schedules and operational needs. A minimum shift commitment will be guaranteed on both sides.
