Metrocentre has 6 car parks and almost 10,000 parking spaces available including disabled bays. Disabled parking is available at all of our locations excluding external Blue Mall.
The best part is that it's free (with no time restrictions) to park in our main, colour-zoned car parks during centre opening hours. Passenger lifts and escalators give easy access from each car park directly to the shopping centre.
*Please note that there are parking restrictions that apply at Metro Retail Park and MetrOasis with a 4 hour time limit. This means you can park in Metro Retail Park and MetrOasis for a maximum stay of four hours.
Where to park?
Metrocentre is anchored by notable retailers. This may help you determine which zones you need to park in. Below are some information to enter into your sat nav before setting off.
- Green car park for Marks & Spencer
- Blue car park for TK Maxx & HomeSense
- Red car park for Flannels, Sports Direct and Everlast Gyms
- Yellow car park for restaurants, leisure and ODEON cinema
- Coach Car Park situated on the A1114 Riverside Way, using postcode NE11 9XX
There are multi-storey car parks in Red, Blue and Yellow zone, as well as outdoor car parks which are located in Red, Blue, Yellow and Green.
We kindly advise owners of large vehicles, such as motorhomes, to utilise the designated Coach Car Park that offers spaces with appropriately sized bays.
Height restrictions
The barrier height restriction for our multi-storey car parks are as follows:
- 1.98m height restriction in Yellow and Blue multi-storey car parks
- 2.1m height restriction in Red multi-storey
All of our car parks have been achieved a Park Mark award for quality management, effective surveillance, appropriate lighting and clean environment.
Bike storage and motorbike parking:
We have pedal bike racks at every entrance on the centre (Red, Green, Yellow and Blue) but you will be required to bring your own chain.
For motorbikes, we have parking bays located in Red, Green and Yellow car parks.
