Wheelchairs and other mobility options are available to hire

Metrocentre Shopmobility Service

Metrocentre has its own dedicated shop mobility unit. Located in Level 3 Blue Multi-Storey Car Park, our service offers customers the opportunity to hire mobility scooters, powerchairs, wheelchairs and walking. Customers can either join the scheme as a member or alternatively they can hire equipment on an ad-hoc basis as a non-member. The use of the equipment is only permitted within the main site in Metrocentre. They cannot be taken to MetrOasis or Metro Retail Park.

Members of the scheme can book a scooter up to 7 days in advance, while advanced booking is restricted to 24hrs only for non-members. Wheelchairs cannot be pre-booked and are always offered on a first come, first served basis. To become a member, we will need two forms of ID which will be checked and verified by our Shopmobility team members. We will then identify your needs, suggesting suitable equipment, conducting a test, completing paperwork, and finally creating a membership record.

Shopmobility is located on level 3 of Blue Multi-Storey, and operates during Centre Hours. They are as follows:

9am - 9pm Monday to Friday
9am - 7pm Saturday
11am - 5pm Sunday

Please be aware, during Bank Holiday and special holidays these hours may differ. Please tap or click the plus icon at the top of your screen to check Centre hours.

With its sturdy construction and nimble design, the Colt provides confidence and convenience This scooter can hold up to 25 stone and has three wheel style drive which gives you better steering for getting around shops.

Jazzy Power Chair

The Jazzy Power Chair combines style and functionality for users. With its advanced features and ergonomic design, the Jazzy provides smooth ride for all who need it. The power chair can hold up to 18 stone the power chair is comparable for left and right-handed steering and has on the spot turning makes getting around the shops easy.
