FAN FEST COSPLAY COMPETITION – TERMS & CONDITIONS

The promoter of this competition is Metrocentre, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, NE11 9YG, a company registered in England 07085128 ("we", "us" or "our").

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Meta or Instagram and by entering this competition you release Meta and Instagram from any responsibility regarding this competition.

To participate in the competition, you must submit your competition entry as detailed in section 6 below between 27/06/2026 at 09:00 and 27/06/2026 at 16:00, or 28/06/2026 at 11:00 and 28/06/2026 at 16:00 (the "Competition Period"). Entries submitted outside of the Competition Period will not be valid.

If you wish to participate in the competition you agree to these terms and conditions ("Terms"). By entering the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted these Terms, so please read them carefully.

ENTRY

The competition is only open to legal residents of the UK aged 18 and over. The competition excludes employees, contractors, agents and service providers of Metrocentre, any member of the Savills group, or any retailers at Metrocentre, as well as any family members of such employees or contractors and anyone professionally associated with this competition.

Entry into the competition is restricted to Instagram.

No purchase or payment of any form is required for entry into the competition.

All entry instructions for the competition form part of these Terms.

To enter the competition, entrants must:

• Attend Fan Fest at Metrocentre in costume or cosplay.
• Take a photograph of themselves at Metrocentre during the event.
• Upload the photograph to Instagram during the Competition Period.
• Tag @metrocentre in the post or story.
• BONUS Entry: Add #FanFestMetrocentre to your post, and your vote will count twice.

Only one person may appear in each entry image.

Entrants may enter multiple times throughout the Competition Period and may submit multiple costumes.

Entries must be submitted by the specified closing date and time. Individuals who do not follow all of the instructions in these Terms, provide the required information, successfully submit their entry, timely submit their entry and/or abide by these Terms may be disqualified.

Automated entries are prohibited and any use of automated devices will result in disqualification. Any entrant who attempts to complete or submit fraudulent entries will be disqualified.

PRIZE(S) & WINNING

Two winners will be selected in total:

• One winner on Saturday 27th June 2026.
• One winner on Sunday 28th June 2026.

Each winner will receive one £250 Metrocentre Gift Card.

The winning photo will be judged by Chris from Screen and Beyond. 

1. We reserve the right to:
   (i) award an alternative prize of equal or greater value;
   (ii) vary the closing date for the competition in unavoidable circumstances;
   (iii) cancel or refuse any individual's entry to the competition if they are in breach of these Terms; and
   (iv) amend these Terms in exceptional circumstances.
2. The prize winners will be randomly drawn by an independent person selected by us in accordance with the laws of chance.
3. Entries close at 4pm on each event day. One winner will be selected from all eligible entries received on Saturday and one winner will be selected from all eligible entries received on Sunday.
4. The prize winners will be notified by Instagram direct message within 7 days of the closing date of the competition. Winners will have 14 days to respond to initial correspondence before an alternative winner is contacted.
5. The prize winners may be requested to take part in promotional activity associated with the competition. If agreed, winners may be required to complete an image release form allowing Metrocentre to use their images and/or footage for promotional purposes.
6. Metrocentre's decision is final and binding in all matters relating to this competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative. Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable.

YOUR INFORMATION & IMAGE

1. Information provided will be used solely for the administration of the competition and will be deleted after six months from the conclusion of the competition unless you have opted into marketing communications.
2. By entering the competition, entrants grant Metrocentre the right to repost, share and use submitted content across Metrocentre marketing channels, including social media, website content and promotional materials.
3. We will keep your personal information secure and process it in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. For further information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

GENERAL

1. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, breaches these Terms or acts in a disruptive, abusive or inappropriate manner.
2. We reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition where circumstances beyond our control make this necessary.
3. Other than for fraudulent misrepresentation or death or personal injury arising from our negligence, we exclude all liability in connection with this competition and the prizes to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. These Terms and this competition are governed by English law and entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
