Description:
An exciting opportunity is available for a friendly, detail-oriented, and organised Optical Assistant to join the PopSpecs team at the soon-to-open Metrocentre branch. This full-time role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service while supporting the technical needs of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers upon arrival.
  • Help customers select the perfect eyewear, including frames and lenses, based on their prescriptions and preferences.
  • Take precise measurements and ensure frames fit comfortably and accurately.
  • Educate customers on proper eyewear care.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential customer records and transactions.
  • Process payments.
  • Manage and order inventory of optical supplies, frames, and lenses.
  • Perform general office duties, including answering calls, responding to emails, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Technical Support:

  • Calibrate and maintain optical equipment.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments on glasses.
  • Perform lens edging, glazing, and fitting when necessary.

Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service by understanding customer needs and addressing inquiries.
  • Recommend products and explain lens and frame options.
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and adjustments of eyewear.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in optics is beneficial, but training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with optical equipment and software is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required.

Experience:

  • Optical: 1 year (preferred but not essential).

Work Location:

  • Eldon Square, Metrocentre. Must be authorised to work in the UK.
