We Are Proud to Partner with Convo to Offer BSL Services
We are excited to announce our partnership with Convo, a Deaf-owned and Deaf-led UK-based organisation providing online video British Sign Language (BSL) interpreting services. This partnership ensures that Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals can seamlessly access information and services while visiting the centre.
About Convo (previously SignLive)
Convo offers a simple and effective solution for Deaf individuals to connect with businesses and organisations through real-time video BSL interpretation. Their team of qualified interpreters provides two services: Video Relay Services (VRS) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), allowing users to communicate effortlessly with staff.
How It Works
BSL users can easily connect to the Convo app to communicate with a qualified BSL interpreter. The interpreter will relay the message to a member of our teams via video or phone call, providing real-time assistance. This service helps with store directories, opening times, gift card purchases, Shopmobility hire, and more.

Two Ways to Connect:
- Video Relay Service (VRS): Contact Metrocentre remotely using the Convo app. An interpreter will relay your message to a staff member over the phone.
- Video Remote Interpreter (VRI): For face-to-face communication within the centre, connect to an interpreter via video call. This allows instant translation between you and Metrocentre staff in real-time.
Easy Access for First-Time Users
First-time users can quickly register with Convo and access the service for free through the Convo Community Directory, which includes Metrocentre. Sign up and download the app here: https://www.convo.io/uk/home
