Clip ‘n Climb presents a fun, safe, inclusive way to introduce children, age 6 and up, to the climbing environment with our new NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes) Clip Climber afterschool programme.
This standalone syllabus will introduce new climbers safely into indoor climbing, developing their awareness of climbing movements whilst improving their confidence.
With two levels to work towards, achievement stickers along the way and a NICAS certificate awarded once all assessment criteria have been completed, your child will not only feel their progress but see it too.
Completion of the NICAS Clip levels does not give early entry onto the NICAS Climbing & NICAS Bouldering Schemes. However, it will:
- Be a safe, fun environment for learning after-school
- Keep your child active, mentally and physically
- Improve your child’s climbing confidence
- Maybe spark a passion for climbing
So your child is ready to climb, they’ll need to come dressed in comfortable clothing and trainers, with long hair tied back. For safety reasons, please ask them to leave loose jewellery, hats, hooded tops, open toed shoes, flip flops, boots, crocs, rock shoes and heels at home.
Our staff are fully NICAS trained, but if you’d like to get involved, you’re welcome to help your child with their climb.
Sessions run every Wednesday, from 16:30 to 18:00.
Duration of the scheme is 6 weeks.
