Venue Overview:
Venues Everywhere are the operators of the brand new immersive experience, Peppa Pig Surprise Party in the Metrocentre, Gateshead and The Traitors: Live Experience in the heart of Covent Garden, London Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Venue Cleaner to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all areas of the venue, ensuring an exceptional experience for guests and staff.
The position covers both Front of House and Back of House spaces, including immersive theatre areas, party rooms, retail and food outlets, as well as staff facilities and operational spaces. Previous cleaning or facilities experience is preferred, particularly within high-footfall, customer-facing environments. However, a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail are equally important. This is a key role within one of Gateshead’s newest immersive attractions and offers the opportunity to be part of an exciting and fast-paced team.
Key Responsibilities
The Venue Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across a range of areas, each with specific requirements. The role requires adaptability, efficiency, and a strong understanding of health and safety standards within a busy, family-focused environment.
Immersive Theatre Spaces
- Support event changeovers and reset spaces between sessions, ensuring care of scenic elements and props
- Respond promptly to hygiene hazards and report issues to management
- Report any damage to set pieces, fixtures, or technical elements
Private Party Rooms
- Clean and reset rooms between bookings, including floors, tables, and seating
- Ensure spaces are fully prepared within required turnaround times
- Dispose of waste and replenish consumables as needed Retail Areas
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of counters, shelving, and customer-facing areas
- Ensure floors, glass, and high-touch surfaces remain clean during operating hours
- Report spillages, damage, or maintenance issues promptly
Food & Beverage Areas
- Clean and sanitise service and preparation areas in line with hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of counters, floors, and surrounding areas
- Dispose of waste correctly and report any concerns immediately
Staff Room & Kitchen
- Clean and sanitise surfaces, appliances, sinks, and floors
- Empty bins and follow recycling procedures
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report issues as required
Green Rooms
- Clean and reset between uses, including seating, mirrors, and floors
- Ensure a welcoming and professional environment for performers and staff
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness throughout the day
Office Spaces
- Maintain cleanliness of desks, shared surfaces, and floors
- Ensure a tidy and presentable working environment
- Report maintenance issues or supply shortages
Corridors & Staircases
- Keep walkways clean, safe, and free from hazards
- Respond quickly to spillages or debris
- Conduct regular checks, particularly during busy periods
Public Toilets
- Clean and sanitise all facilities to a high standard
- Replenish consumables throughout operating hours
- Address hygiene issues promptly and report maintenance concerns
Baby Changing Facilities
- Clean and disinfect all units and surrounding areas
- Ensure a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for families
- Dispose of waste correctly and report any issues
Additional Information
- This role will be shared across multiple team members
- Clear communication and task tracking are essential to ensure all areas are maintained
- Handover processes will be required between shifts to support operational continuity
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Prior cleaning experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Salary: £12.71 per hour.
Contract:
- We are hiring a mix of minimum hour contracts, depending on numbers and schedules.
- But a minimum shift will need to be guaranteed on both sides.
