Metrocentre Roller Rink Returns This Summer
Roll into summer as Metrocentre's popular Roller Rink returns to Exhibition Square from Tuesday 18th August to Bank Holiday Monday 31st August.
Perfect for families, friends and skaters of all abilities, enjoy 30-minute skating sessions for just £5, including skate hire. Whether you're trying roller skating for the first time or looking for a fun day out during the summer holidays, there's something for everyone.
Daily activities include:
- Learn to Skate sessions at 9.30am and 10.00am
- SEND-friendly Quiet Session at 10.30am
- Open skating sessions throughout the day
Every ticket sold supports the work of Power Through Sport CIC, helping more people across the North East become active, confident and connected.
Location: Exhibition Square (opposite Primark)
Age: Suitable for anyone aged 4 and above.
Skates: Adult and kids (Junior size 6 and above) sizes available.
Equipment: Skates will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own.

Each day begins with two dedicated Learn to Skate sessions from 9.30am–10.00am and 10.00am–10.30am, giving beginners the opportunity to build confidence and develop their skating skills with support from experienced instructors.
A SEND-friendly Quiet Session follows from 10.30am–11.00am, providing a calmer and more inclusive skating experience for those who benefit from reduced noise and a relaxed atmosphere.
Open skating sessions then run throughout the day, giving families, friends and visitors plenty of opportunities to enjoy the rink at their own pace.
